General info about Hexazon Barb

These fish are golden and have six vertical dark bars on each side of the body, they can reach 2 inches. To keep them in captivity, water temperature should be between 74ºF and 79ºF and water pH should be between 6.0 and 7.0. The tank should have a dense vegetation, rocks, open areas for swimming and a soft substrate. This species can be kept in a community tank as long as their tankmates are of similar size and temperament. It should be kept in groups of at least 8, if they are kept in a large group they won’t bother their tankmates.

This species is omnivorous. In the wild, it feeds on small insects, worms and crustaceans. In a tank, it can be fed with dried, live and frozen foods.
