This is the Reasons People Fail with Aquariums

Why do so many people struggling with the fish-keeping hobby? First, some people are burning out, those who can't keep the fish alive? Then some people over-extend and need to reel back?

So, why does this phenomenon happen in this hobby that does not always occur in other pursuits?

The fault might be in our approach. Many of us think that we can read the research paper and download the information, and now we are proficient in this skill. This hobby, however, is not like that.

Fishkeeping is more like a sport. You can train and learn, but that does not mean that you'll be good at that role.

So, say you might be very passionate about baseball, you might have watched it all your life, you might have been reading and figuring out how to play the game, or even the rule. But you don't get to play the position you want.

Maybe you get to play an outfielder instead of first base or a catcher. So, even if you have done all the research and asked all the people how to do it, you have never adapted to it.

We might learn how to make and take care of a magnificent tank, but we might not get the result. Maybe because we aren't applying it to ourselves. We are using it for an overall thing that doesn't make sense because we are individuals.

This is an individual hobby.

We need to find out our own robust set of skills, and often we do. For example, especially beginners don't like playing baseball, and you like the idea of playing a sport, you like keeping a fish, but you don't know what part you fit in on.

This is the hardest part. We can only be sure about something after doing it for a long time. With fish keeping, we don't see a physical limitation. Instead, it looks straightforward.

We have to understand what position you will be good at and at what level. For example, you might find someone successful in the hobby, but they have started hating the tiresome work it takes.

So, it is vital to self-analyze what this means for me. You should still bring on skills; ask your friend, but you might also realize that you don't have that skill. But might be good at something else.

If you are chasing that high-end planted tank and can't pull it off, it may not be for you. You can try breeding or fish only-tank.

Fish-keeping is more like a self-journey, a marathon. Sports for most people are not all-year-round, but in this hobby, we have fish all the time, which leads to burnout.

However, when you find your way around the tank and find your expertise, the hobby will become your biggest stress-reliever of the day.
