Have Shell Dwellers? Here are Some Great Tankmates!

If you are looking for tankmates for you Shell Dwellers, then this article is for you.
If you have your Shell Dwellers in less than the 40-gallon tank, it's best to have that species-only tank. The second thing, it's not best to mix different Shell Dwellers together. Sometimes, they are agitated, and that causes problems. So, you are goign to chosoe a shell Dwellers, sometimes it's best to just keep one, uncless you have large tank like 75-gallons.
Also, if you are goign to add some of these fishes we'll be mentioning below, expect your fry survival rates to go down. So, if you are keeping a community tank, all of the fry sruvival will go down when you mix and match these fishes.
Bristlenose Pleco
This is an invaluable fish in the shell dweller tank because it takes care of algae. Keep them at least you ahve a 20-gallon tank.
However, you do want some rock workwhere the Pleco can go. If the Shell Dwellers decide they don't really want that Pleco in thier area. AS a side note, don't keep any general community fishes with the Shell Dwellers. Because when thee fishes start to breed, they become very protective, attacking other fishes.
Rock-Dwelling Fishes
These are beautiful fish and like the name implies, they tend to hang out in rocks more than shells. so, if you are gonna set up these fishes, you wanna have some areas for shell and some for rocks.
Neolamprolugus
It's a beautiful orgage fish that will add lots of color to your tank. They are intersitng fisehs because they like to hang out aroudn the rock, they are not overly active, and generally they go fine with Shell Dwellers.
They can add a new dimension to your tank.
Neolamprolugus Brichardi
You have to be caerful with this fish because they are active breeders. They can potentially fill your tank with fry. So, excercise some amount of caution. They are great looking fish.
Cyprichomis Leptosoma
The males have a beautful blue color and the females stay little more silver. these fisehs tend to have rather large fries that is released in open water.
Being an open-water swimmers, these fishes will add a dynamic to the upper part of your tank.
Feather-fin Cichlids
These are incredible fishes, but are also a little bit expensive. The male typically have all the great colors and females tend to be more brown. Some of these fishes can get larger, so be careful.
Calvus Cichlid
These fishes lood predatory, but they stay relativey small and are not that agressive. They offer a cool look with unique shape.
Dwarf Petricola
These are small catfish that get around three-inches. But, these fishes do need some rockwork.
