General info about Hawaiian Feather Duster

The Hawaiian Feather Duster is orange or tan in color with brown band colorations. It can grow up to 7 inches in diameter. The radioles are used for filter feeding. A parchment-like tube is secreted to protect the body of the worm. When it is threatened, it draws inside the tube. It can also discard its crown in extreme stress environments.

Hawaiian Feather Duster Diet & Nutrition

It is a filter-feeder and it can be supplemented with phytoplankton and liquid organic food.

Hawaiian Feather Duster Origin

It is native from Hawaii.

Caution with Hawaiian Feather Duster

Like most invertebrates, the Hawaiian Feather Duster does not do well if there are large swings in water parameters. It also does not tolerate any type of metal traces in the water, therefore, it should never be in contact with any copper medications.

Acclimating Hawaiian Feather Duster

Most invertebrates do not like large swings in water parameters and the Hawaiian Feather Duster is not an exception, so even though most hobbyists do not acclimate their cleaner crews it is suggested to do so. If you have a sump, float your cleaner crew in an area with low light to allow them to temperature acclimate first which should take about 15-20 min. Then it is best to slowly drip acclimate them to allow them to adjust to your water conditions.
