About Anton Bruuns Cleaner Shrimp

General information

The Anton Brunn’s Cleaner Shrimp is a great addition to your clean up crew.  Not only will they clean fish but they are also excellent scavengers for leftover food & more. This is a peaceful shrimp which can be kept in multiples. They are a good selection for beginner aquarist since the care for this species is moderately easy.

It was first named by A. J. Bruce in 1967. Also known as Crustaceans, Carid Shrimps, Cleaner & Rock Shrimps, Bruun’s Cleaner Shrimp, Bruun’s Cleaning Partner Shrimp, Cleaning Partner Shrimp, Cleaner Shrimp, Clear Cleaner Shrimp, Floating Shrimp, Red Arrow Cleaning Shrimp, Rock Shrimp, Cleaning Rock Pool Shrimp, Rock Cleaner Shrimp, Spotted Cleaner Shrimp and Jelly Cleaner shrimp. 

Transparent with a dense red and white pattern. The length of this species is 1.5 inches. Carid shrimps occur worldwide in almost every habitat, from seawater to fresh water and can be found all over the reef. They are generally respected by other creatures, often sharing burrows and holes and working as housekeepers. They will wave their antennae around to attract customers, they then proceed to clean outside and inside the creatures mouths, gills etc.

Minimum tank size should be at least 30-gallon. They are peaceful in general to the other inhabitants of the tank. 

Diet & nutrition

They are a carnivore. They feed on parasites, algae, and plankton.

Origination

They come from Indo-West Pacific.
