About Maricultured TigerTail Seahorse

General information

The Tiger-Tail Seahorse is Maricultured in Vietnam and is native to the soft coral reefs of Malaysia. This is a beautiful species that is yellow or black in coloration, with stunning markings around the eyes. The males of this species are often times black, while the females are typically yellow. They have many stripes and blotchy markings, providing them with valuable camouflage. For the best results, seahorses should be kept in a separate, species-only medium or large sized tank with multiple Gorgonians which they can grab with their prehensile tails. If not provided with Gorgonians, plastic plants can be substituted. The Tiger-Tail Seahorse reacts poorly to being harassed by other more aggressive fish such as: blennies, gobies, wrasses, tobies, triggerfish, and porcupinefish.
