Lithophyllon sp
Water parameters are being added.
In general, corals coming from the genus Lithophyllon have colonies that may take the form of plates, encrusting or flat laminae and usually has a lobed margin. Their corallites are scaterred in a random order and has no central corallite. They often have a uniform color and their tentacles may extend during daytim.
As for the Kiwi Litho, they are predominantly colored blue with green margin and white blue mouth. This are the water parameters for cultivating Kiwi Litho:
In the wild, Kiwi Litho has developed a symbiotic feeding relationship with marine algae called zooxanthellae that is living within their tissues. But in captivity, you have to feed them with nanoplankton and you may add dissolved organics in the water.
A mature tank is highly recommended in propagating Kiwi Litho. They must be set at the botoom of the tank to simulate their natural wild environment.
The Kiwi Litho requires moderate lighting and moderate waterflow.
The Kiwi Litho can be found in the waters of the Indo-Pacific Ocean. They are classified as a near threatened species and has been placed under Appendix II of the CITES list.
The Kiwi Litho has a semi-aggressive behaviour. Proper spacing must be observed in relation to other coral species in the tank.
The Kiwi Litho is a marine species. Therefore, salinity must be maintained thoroughly at 1.023 to 1.025 specific gravity.
