General information

In general, corals coming from the genus Goniopora have numerous corallites that are walled invidually. Each corallite has a polyp that is usually exposed and extended. Their polyps are usually long, has a daisy-like tips each having 24 tentacles and sways like a flower tube.

As for the Aussie Bright Red Goniopora, they are predominantly colored red with white mouth. This are the water parameters in cultivating Aussie Bright Red Goniopora:

The Aussie Bright Red Goniopora get its primary nutrition from the symbiotic zooxanthellae living within its tissue. But on top of this, we still recommend you do supplemental feeding by adding mysis and brine shrimp. Further, the additional of dissolved organics is highly recommended.

A mature tank is highly recommended in propagating Aussie Bright Red Goniopora. They should be set on the middle or bottom part of the tank.

The Aussie Bright Red Goniopora requires moderate to strong lighting and moderate waterflow.

The Aussie Bright Red Goniopora is susceptible to mortality caused by nutritional deficiencies. With this, the addition of supplemental nutrition and nutrients is highly recommended.

The Aussie Bright Red Goniopora can be found in the waters of the Indo-Pacific Ocean, particularly in the Philippines and Indonesia. They are listed as a vulnerable species under Appedix II of the CITES list.

The Aussie Bright Red Goniopora has an aggressive behaviour and may require adequate spacing in relation to other corals in the tank.

The Aussie Bright Red Goniopora is purely marine. So, therefore, salinity must be maintained thoroughly at 1.023 to 1.025 specific gravity.
