About Twig catfish

General information

Twig catfish have a unique body shape that resembles a thin stick of wood which is where they get their name from. The body is a slender and elongated body that is brown in color with two dark stripes from the tip of the rostrum, passing over the eyes and ending at the tail.

Twig catfish are omnivores scavengers and are not a picky eater. They actively feed off the bottom of the aquarium, they get most of their nutrition from leftover food, decaying plants, and algae. If there is no algae or leftover food present, supplement with high-quality flake food, sinking carnivore pellets, freeze-dried bloodworms, and tubifex.
