When it comes to hybrids, it is hard to say what are the best conditions for them in an aquarium since it depends on the parent’s species and the traits they inherited. However, it is safe to say that a hybrid will do well in a community aquarium with tankmates of the same size and that they need to have a lot of hiding places. It is not easy to identify hybrids because their physical traits depend on who their parents are, meaning that there is nothing in common between all hybrids and there are no rules to define one. However, if a Syno presents wavy, light lines and has spots that aren’t perfectly round, then it’s most likely a hybrid.

These hybrids are omnivores and can be fed with prepared, live and frozen foods. A varied diet including vegetable matter is advised.

These fish has pectoral and dorsal spines that can become entangled in the mesh of a net, so it is best to use a plastic container to move them.
