They have a flat and elongated body with a yellowish-brown coloration and a darker stripe running along the length of their body. They are primarily nocturnal and are often found hiding in crevices and caves during the day.  Shadow Catfish require a moderate to large-sized aquarium with plenty of hiding places such as caves, driftwood, and plants. They are peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive species. They prefer a pH range between 6.0 to 7.5 and a temperature range between 72 to 79°F.
