ROYAL GRAMMA
Royal Gramma is a small nano-fish which gets approximately 3-inches when fully grown. These fishes do originate from the Caribbean sea and they are Bachelet, so when you keep them in your tank, you want to make sure that you only keep one.
JUST ONE
Even though the Royal Gramma can be very peaceful to other small fishes in the tank for example Damsels, Clownfish; they can be quite territorial and aggressive to their own kind. So, even if you have a huge tank, you still should keep just one. It is very rare to see when one has more than one getting along in the same tank. Royal Gramma does like to have a lot of hiding spots.
DIET
Royal Gramma is carnivores they won't take pellet food, they would take flake food. But you really should be feeding them a lot of meats. Feeding them properly will make those colors on this fish pop. So feed them with food like brine shrimp, frozen food, blood worms, etc.
ACTIVE FISH
When you first bring these fish home they are going to be very docile. When you bring them a hole in a bag, they can be laying on their side they could be breathing really hard. This is what Royal Gramma does, they are extremely timid when they get in a new tank. But once they become adjusted to their environment these fish are always out and be active in your tank.
LET THEM ACCLIMATE
When you first bring these fish home they can be hiding for 2-3 days and that is natural for saltwater fishes. Freshwater fish usually just come out right but poor saltwater fish go through a lot from ocean to retailer to wholesaler to the pet store and then to you. This all scares them a bit, it takes some time for them to come out and be social.
REEF SAFE
These fish are just a really beautiful little fish. The contrast in colors so well they are reef safe, they are not going to hurt your invertibrates, clams, snails, shrimps, or anything like that.
TANK SIZE
It is recommended to keep them with some small peaceful fish but if you are keeping them for themselves 10-gallons is the least size you can keep them. If you are keeping it with some other fish a 20-gallon is a must. But you never want to just keep one fish so you definitely want to keep other fishes so it would be great to start with at least a 30-gallon tank.
WATER PARAMETERS
- Royal Gramma can get a maximum of up to 3-inches.
- Temperature can be anywhere from 72-80 degrees.
- Your salinity should be like any other water fish; i.e. hovering around 1.025.
- pH should be around 8.4.
BEGINNER FISH
It is an excellent saltwater beginner fish which looks super pretty. They are really easy to take care of, just hold on to a bit of patience, give them some friend and let it role like that
