How to Choose a Great Betta for your Aquarium!

This article will tell you how to pick a perfectly healthy Betta for your aquarium. One that is active, colorful, with great fins, and one with which you won't have any troubles.

Things Not to Look for in a Betta

Fins

Sometimes Bettas have massive long, beautiful fins filled with color, and these fins will help us the kind of life that our Bettas have had up until we have got it.

Therefore, try avoiding Bettas with clamped and nipped fins or fins with any fungus on them.

Inactivity

The Bettas that aren't swimming around too confidently aren't too active and look depressed. But, sometimes, Bettas will just be relaxing. So, it is essential to know the difference between them being relaxing and being sick.

To make sure, look out if the Betta has an appetite. Look for hungry Bettas and eat when food is sprinkled in the tank.

However, Bettas with bent spines or those with trouble swimming are also bad news.

Gills

Sometimes Bettas have gill flukes that you want to avoid. You want gills that aren't much swollen but look uniform with the Bettas body.

Things to Look For

Choose the Betta in a color that you love. After this, ensure they have great fins and are active. You can even ask the shop owner to feed them and see which one goes for the food.
