Tank Size: 30 Galloon is good enough as most of them stay pretty small. But then you also have Filefishes that will get Foot-long. So, for those, you'll need a much larger tank.
Care Level: Moderate, as feeding is the only thing people have trouble with.
Temperament: They are very peaceful fish, almost sky and skittish. But as they get older and more accustomed to it, you'll see them come out a lot more often.
Reef Compatibility: With caution. The problem is that once they finish up eating all those Aiptasia in the tank, they'll feed them food you feed them, but they'll also start looking at your soft and stony corals as a snack. So, be cautious.

Appearance

Maximum Size: Most of them stay pretty small, about 3-inches long, and the other ones, like the fan bellies, can get up to a foot long. And, if you were to see a fully grown Scrawled Filefish, they can get up to 3 feet long.
Feeding
They eat like Anthias, so they need small doses multiple times a day. Also, if you are buying them from a fish store, ask the owners what they feed these fish and if you are buying them online, make sure you have a good variety of food at the house. This way, you can give them multiple different things to try to figure out what it likes.
They are omnivores. So, make sure you have a wide variety of meaty foods. Sometimes, they'll even eat some algae. They also love to go after Aiptasia.
Compatibility
It is recommended to keep only one in the tank. This is because the species of Filefish can be very aggressive towards each other in a tank together. Also, try to keep them with peaceful fish.
