If you are looking for colorful and active fish options for your 10-gallon aquarium, this article is for you. Here are the five types of fish that will be an excellent fit for your aquarium.
Pseddomugil Dertrudae
There are a few species of this available in the hobby. They are available in a wide range of colors. A super peaceful fish that won't go after your clean-up crew, they will spar but not do any damage.
One thing to remember is that these fishes prefer heavily planted aquariums. There are a lot of easy plants for it, and if you don't think you can do it, trust us, you can. They are great for any new fish keeper, and they'll love you.
Scarlet Badis
A small colorful fish from the Baiday native to Southern Asia. They are famous for their color and exciting behavior. They can be kept in groups and are relatively peaceful.
These fishes prefer live and frozen food over commercial. You can train them for pellets and flakes, but you must slowly transition them to such food.
Apistogamma

They are schooling fish, so keep at least six of them, and you can do way more like Chilli Rasboras. They are pretty easy to care for, and love planted tanks.
They are small fish and have smaller mouths, so keep an eye on what you are feeding them if you have flakes crush them before feeding.
With smaller Rasboras, feeding smaller amounts multiple times daily is much better than one big feeding once daily. It's straightforward for them to get bloated because of their small stomachs.
