Gem Tang

General information

The Gem Tang is a highly desired fish that comes with a hefty price tag but has a stunning black body and a galaxy of vibrant white spots, vibrant yellow tail and yellow accents on the pectoral fins. They can be a bit aggressive towards other Tang fish as well as other tank mates of similar body shape.

The Gem Tang is an Omnivore, while they will eat high protein foods they should be treated more like an Herbivore they should be offered plenty of marine-based seaweed and algae. An herbivore diet will help strengthen the immune system, reduce aggression, and improve its overall health.

The Gem Tang can be found throughout the Western Indian Ocean off the coast of Mozambique, South Africa, Madagascar, and near the islands of Reunion and Mauritius.
