About Golden Dwarf Sucker

General information

The Golden Dwarf Sucker is one of the smaller plecos often called Draft Oto Pleco they only grow to 1.6 inches in length. Macrotocinclus affinis prefer aquariums with fast-moving water, sandy substrate, and plenty of hiding areas. They like slightly acidic pH and temperatures between 70–81 °F.

Diet & nutrition

Golden dwarf sucker are omnivores scavengers and are not a picky eater. They actively feed off the bottom of the aquarium, they get most of their nutrition from leftover food, decaying plants, and algae. If there is no algae or leftover food present, supplement with high-quality flake food, sinking carnivore pellets, freeze-dried bloodworms, and tubifex.
