They are sensitive to water quality and require frequent water changes to maintain optimal health. It is recommended to feed them a variety of high-quality live or frozen foods. 
Malaysian Red Arowana are classified as an endangered species due to habitat destruction, overfishing for the aquarium trade, and superstitions that have led to illegal trade and poaching.

Malaysian Red Arowana are carnivorous and feed primarily on small fish, insects, and crustaceans. They have a unique feeding mechanism, where they use their large, bony tongue to capture prey and crush it against the roof of their mouth.

The Malaysian Red Arowana is native to the rivers and swamps of Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. They prefer slow-moving or still waters with dense vegetation and sandy or muddy bottoms.
